Welcome! I'm Bláithín (or Blot).
I hold an MA in Literature and Publishing and a BA in Writing and Literature, as well as a PTC certificate in proofreading. All that is to say, I’ve spent a frankly ridiculous amount of time thinking about words – what they do, why they're there, how they could be improved.When I'm not editing, I'm writing myself, so I know all too well how scary sharing your work can be! That's why I make sure to treat every piece with care and sensitivity, keeping you, the writer, in mind.I work with writers creating literary and genre-bending fiction, from feminist and socially conscious stories to speculative, supernatural and uncanny worlds.

Proofreading

Proofreading is the final careful read before your work goes out into the world. Sometimes all your writing needs is a fresh pair of eyes. I'll catch any grammar mistakes, pesky little typos (we all make 'em!), and inconsistencies that may have slipped through the cracks.

Copyediting

While proofreading is about catching those final errors, copyediting looks at your writing as a whole. I’ll help smooth out sentences, improve clarity and flow, untangle any awkward passages, and make suggestions where something could be expressed more effectively. The aim is to help your words say exactly what you want them to say, while still sounding like you!
